Hi there, I’m Dr Giles Hazan and I’ve been working on the frontline of healthcare in the UK as a GP for over 22-years in the NHS. In recent years, I have specialised in the area of chronic pain and musculoskeletal medicine.
Over 20 million people are living with Musculoskeletal Pain here in the UK, almost a third of the population, it’s a problem of epidemic magnitude. Whether we like it or not, we as clinicians on the front line of primary care will be seeing this nearly every day in practice.
The amount of training we receive in MSK pain is disproportionately low compared to the number of people suffering with chronic pain. I’m passionate about levelling the playing field, educating and inspiring practitioners to be more knowledgeable, more confident and more empowered to deliver world-class care for patients.
Written by Dr Giles Hazan and Dr Jonathan Kenyon, ‘The Musculoskeletal Practitioner’s Handbook’ is your faithful companion providing a practical, day-to-day reference guide to assessing and managing the most common musculoskeletal problems you’ll encounter in their practice.
Based on over 50 years of clinical experience, science back research and healthcare best practice, the book provides you with all the tools and insights you need to succeed in MSK practice including an overview of pathology and guides the reader through assessment, examination, tests and scans, and management.

“If you work in the world of musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment and treatment, you should buy this book!
Only rarely does a textbook live up to the title the authors gave it, but this really is an essential guide for clinical practice. There is so much information packed into this handily-sized book that is formatted in an easily accessible format. Indeed, it appears to contain just about all the important assessment, diagnostic and management knowledge that practitioners need in their everyday clinical work.”
